I posted the review below for the Childrens Nordic Naturals version. But I thought it would be helpful here as well. So I am posting the review below. I know I started to have the big question of hey can I get the childrens one…and this is what I found out from having tried both and looking at the labels.

We have had our adopted daughter since she was 7 months old. Not being able to breastfeed we wanted to give her as many positive dietary items as we could. Of course we could not do a controlled experiment but this has seemed to help her. She is developing well and she has no problem with taking this or the infant DHA Nordic Naturals at all. The developing great is very encouraging because she has a genetic deletion and her mom was malnourished and had no prenatal care. Our daughter was also underfed for the first 6 weeks plus of her life. It seemed she started doing more with vocalbulary and being interested in things after starting the DHA. Would she have anyway? I truly can’t say.

After using the infant version I was curious about the Children’s version because per ounce this one is vastly better priced. So here is what I found. The label for the infant’s DHA lists the amount of DHA and EPA per 4 ml (a serving size is 1 to 4 ml). The Children’s DHA lists a serving size as 2.5 ml. When you correct you are getting the same amount of DHA and EPA per serving. But you get 8 ounces here as compared to 2 ounces. For way less than 4 times as much. What you are not getting is the higher levels of D3 in the infant. This one also has a strawberry taste that the infant does not. So if you are buying this for DHA and EPA, this is a much better per ounce price. I wish I had known that sooner.

I suspect most people reading this review have done some research on DHA and/or EPA. If you are curious to try, I have heard nothing but good things about Nordic Naturals and as I said the Children’s can save you a lot of money over the Infant. The infant we put drops in her bottle or food. This one does not come with a dropper. It also does say check with a doctor for children less than 8 months. But the infant, ironically says 1 to 4 ml a day. If you use 1 to 4 ml of this a day you would be giving your infant no more or no less EPA and DHA than you would having bought the infant one.

I have been feeding this to my 1 year old baby for a couple of weeks. My little one likes it. Even though the taste could be fishy for an adult (I tried a spoon of it), it seems the baby does not care.
Another concern of mine was the radiation contamination from Fukushima accident. I spent sometime to do homework online on this issue. Finally I was convinced that this Nordic Naturals’ product, which is made from Norwegian Arctic Cod, should be safe. Norwegian Arctic cod’s habitat is roughly between Greenland and Barents Sea, an isolated area from Pacific waters, which makes it very unlikely to be contaminated. I also checked online for any report about fish radiation contamination. No source points to Norwegian Cod. So, though some seafood is contaminated, this product is relatively safe.

Nordics Naturals baby’s DHA is pretty awesome. I bought this product a month ago for my almost 4 months baby and have never looked back. It is not as smelly as some people claim. Since my son had not yet started solids and hadnt formed any strong likings towards taste, he adjusted to the taste of the drops pretty quickly. He scrunched up his face the first couple of times but he drank it straight. No gagging or throwing up. His body definitely does not give out a fishy odor. Its really quiet a mild smell. And we are Indian vegetarians. Not sure how it has affected my baby as of now, but he is hitting his milestones way way ahead of babies his age. It might be just him though. I figure, it cant hurt him.

I formula feed my 6 month old infant and I use 2 dropperfuls of this Nordic Natural’s Baby’s DHA in his bottle daily and I feel very comfortable that he is getting the proper amount of DHA his growing brain needs. He has never acted like he can taste the DHA, which is an oil, but I’ve also never noticed a smell. And it washes out of his bottles no problem when I put them in the dishwasher. As long as he is on formula, I will use this DHA supplement.

Have been giving it to my son for the past month and a half and don’t know what results we are supposed to notice but these but they are pretty easy to give.

I began giving my daughter a small amount of the recommneded dosage when she was 3 months old. I was a little nervous about it but I knew all the benefits of DHA; so I started. She loves it, really loves it and my daughter is not shy when there is something she DOESN’T like — but this is not the case with NN Baby’s DHA — my parents get a real kick watching her take it — so cute. At 11 months/17 pounds I give her about 1.5ml daily – she really liks it and it just make me feel better to be able to give this to her.

I also give her from Child Life, a multi-vitamin, vitamin d and vitamin c (so far so good — flu season isn’t over yet)

This my first ever post on a product, so you gotta know I am standing by it. It’s that good.

It was right on time and It is a good product with great quality. But a little bit expensive. I will buy it againg if I have to.

I give this to my four month old. She doesn’t like the taste, but I find if I put it in her bottle, she drinks it just fine. Trying to give it to her by mouth was just too much of a struggle. In the bottle it is great! The fish oil for older kids has a nice strawberry taste that my two year old loves.

We started giving this to our 7 month old on the advice of our doctor because of some eczema patches. To my surprise, he loves the taste (plain, cod liver oil). He even gets excited when he sees me grab the bottle or dropper. It seems to have worked like a charm on his eczema, and I can feel good about the fact that it’s nothing but good stuff in there, including Vitamin D. Some other organic DHA supplements for babies are actually genetically modified, but this is the good stuff.

One thing I found confusing is that the bottle we got from our doctor said “DHA Infant” instead of “Baby’s DHA” but otherwise looked exactly the same and has the same composition. The Nordic Naturals website seems to brand it differently for health professionals, but it seems to be the same stuff.
