There are a lot of negative reviews about the size. Can’t say the same. They go down easy for me. I don’t take protein shakes; I prefer to eat my protein (beans, meat, dairy, etc). But these pills ensure that my amino levels are high during a workout and through the day. I take one before and mid way through a workout, and with meals. Never had any issues with swallowing them.

So, many people, myself included, complained about how HUGE these pills are when they first receive them.
However, there is a simple method to overcoming this problem:

1) Buy the TABLETS. Not the fishgels, and not the capsules. The TABLETS.
2) The Tablets are relatively easy to cut in half with your bare hands; they come with a rivet down the middle already, so with an appropriate amount of force, you can easily snap the TABLET in half by hand.
3) CHEW each piece WITH FOOD! These pills are extremely easy to chew, almost as though they were made with that intention. If you can stomach the extremely bland taste, then by all means, chew it without food; but when done with food, you can’t even taste it. I tried it with both a Strawberry poptart, and with peanut butter crackers, and I couldn’t taste a thing. (DON’T try this with the fishgels or the capsules; as they cannot be chewed as the tablets can)

Advanced Tip: Put each half-piece in your mouth, and push it back to your molar teeth. Put food in your mouth before chewing, and put the food in the same spot. Start chewing both at the same time, and you literally won’t taste anything but your food; with an extra crunch of course.
The pill could be twice the size it is now, and my method would ensure that everybody could take it; because chewing the pill with food means no fear of choking on the huge pills.

As for the effectiveness of the pills themselves:
I’ve only been taking them for a short while now, but I have already noticed an increase in recovery speed. I work myself until I get extremely sore each day, and that soreness went down pretty quickly. Since proteins (amino acids) are the basis for recovery and build-up, that means these things are doing their job. I love Optimum products!

My product arrived unopened and the price is great. I’ve been buying these from GNC for years, and Amazon offers a better deal. As for the product itself, amino acids are great immune boosters as well as muscle builders. The great thing about the pill, is that there is no protein to break down, so you get the amino acids directly to your system faster. It’s great for long hikes or runs where you want to replenish your system ASAP while not consuming food. You can also grind the pills into a dust and mix in your water bottles/hydration packs.

I have been taking this product for almost two weeks and it has made a big difference for me. I do 400- 500 push ups every other day and 400 sit-ups on the alternate plus I work 50+ hours a week, doing medium duty physical work and it helped me get thru a 12 hour work day no problem. Yeah, the pills are a tad large, but nothing I couldn’t handle.

I feel like this reduce fatigue half after IF(0.8 – 0.9), TSS over 150. weekend riding.
Also not expensive.

Please do not attempt to swallow it. The pill is pretty big.
I chew it and taste is not that bad.

Before buying this amino acid I saw the previous review that said that it is kind of difficult to sallow those "big pills"…but for me I hasn’t been that difficult. The pills are not small, but neither really big.
