Nearly killed me and I loved every minute of it!

I’ve been a big fan of Erin O’Brien since I started working out to Strong Body, Ageless Body, and I am so excited to have this new one. I worked out to it this morning, and laughed, cursed and groaned through the entire thing! Erin has punched things up a notch by combining her exercises and increasing the intensity. It was wonderful both for cardiovascular and muscular workout. Erin encourages you to go at your own pace, and there were definitely times when I needed to just stop and breathe. Erin is so knowledgeable so you learn a lot about your body and how it works, and yet she is also fun and easy to follow. What I also like about this dvd is that it’s broken up into sections, so you can do one or more sections, or opt for the entire workout, as your time allows. All you need for this workout are a set of low weights (women 5 pounds and men 8 pounds to start), a towel and a mat/rug to lie on. I know I’m going to be sore tomorrow, but it’ll be that good kind of soreness where you know that you’re building muscle and strength. I look forward to continuing with this workout, and seeing more, more, more, please! from Erin O’Brien.

Excellent Weight Training and Workout DVD!

I love Erin O’Brien’s new Strong Body, Fit Body workout DVD. Just like her previous workout DVD, Strong Body, Ageless Body, this one focuses on improving upper body strength using hand weights. You don’t need anything but a towel, water, and 5 to 6 pound weights. This workout is a lot tougher than her previous DVD, but worth every 46 minutes. It’s such a fun workout! She ends the workout with a longer full body stretch, which is a great improvement over her last DVD. What I like most about this DVD is that she incorporates the hand weights in every routine, plus jumps and lunges that don’t hurt your knees. The core and cardio part is well balanced throughout the workout. This DVD is broken up into several 7 minutes routines that you can play alone or all together. Thanks Erin for giving us such an amazing, well rounded, full body workout routine!!

A Workout for the Calm of Heart and Strong of Body

I have been using Erin O’Brien’s workout DVD’s for years — through pregnancy, post pregnancy, and as a general workout. I have never followed and instructor that I have enjoyed more. She is calm, encouraging, and centered on the exercises. She explains how to do each one properly and is very easy to follow. She combines weight training, cardiovascular exercise, and stretching for a total workout in less than 45 minutes.

I would not recommend Strong Body, Fit Body to a person just starting to work out, however. Instead, I would recommend Strong Body, Ageless Body, as Ms. O’Brien gives many options for levels of intensity in that DVD. Once that DVD is mastered, then I would do Strong Body, Fit Body. She has definitely upped the intensity in her most recent workout.

I owe a stronger, leaner, lighter body to Ms. O’Brien, and I cannot thank her enough!

A great workout with a twist of fun!!

I usually don’t write reviews (although I rely on what other reviewers say) but I wanted to write a review on this. I have both this workout video, and also strong body, ageless body. Each is different but I love them both. Erin is my favorite trainer as she gives a great workout, makes it fun, and is knowledgeable. I find it practical for the busy forty something mom who works full-time, me. Today was the first day I did this one and I think it can be adapted to various levels. She left me feeling great, and left me with a chuckle as the end is very fun/funny when the crew is asked why they workout! I would love to see more videos with other variations and maybe even one with a focus on the exercise needs of men so a husband and wife can workout together, we do. Thanks, Erin!

Erin is amazing again!

I was very excited to start using Erin O’Brien’s new Strong Body, Fit Body DVD, and I am not disappointed! As in Strong Body, Ageless Body, Erin is professional, knowledgeable, fun, and yes – even a little bit corny. So if you think that being a little silly on occasion is completely out of place while exercising, then this DVD is probably not for you. She is genuine and upbeat throughout the routines, like working out is honestly pretty enjoyable, but that she understands that it’s a struggle too. The pacing in this DVD is excellent, and she always takes the time to carefully explain each move. One thing that I really like about both of Erin’s DVD’s is that she does EVERY exercise with you throughout the entire set. Some instructors will do the first few reps, and then stand then and talk at you while you finish out the set, I like that she understands the pain I’m going through! She has perfect form and perfect timing, and still always manages to always make me smile (and sweat)! I agree with other reviewers that this is a bit more challenging than Strong Body, Ageless Body. Some of the exercises here are the more advanced versions shown from that DVD. So if you are just starting out, I would start with Strong Body, Ageless Body – but get this one too so you have something to work towards! I highly recommend this DVD for anyone looking for a challenging full body workout!

The Only Workout DVD You Will Ever Need

Strong Body Fit Body is among the best workout DVD’s on the market today. As the fitness world is often overwhelmed with DVD’s with a celebrity hype, the fitness component is often absent from the “fitness” DVD. Ms. O’Brien is professional, athletic and shares her knowledge and passion in this comprehensive overall body workout. The DVD is challenging – no doubt you are in for a great workout!!!! Strong Body Fit Body offers options for the more difficult aspects of the workout and challenges those who are capable of taking the workout to a higher level. Ms. O’Brien is easy to listen to – follow – and the DVD is a pleasure to watch. Strong Body Fit Body is the PERFECT way to start the day – for every athlete. I highly recommend Srong Body Fit Body for all athletic levels. What a perfect way to begin the New Year.

Excellent Workout

I just happened upon the Erin O’Brien workouts one day and since they had great reviews (thanks to all who took the time to write a review) and they were remarkably inexpensive, I purchased them both – (Strong Body Fit Body and Strong Body, Ageless Body with Erin O’Brien on a whim.

I’ve been exercising for years and would rate my fitness level as intermediate. Now in my mid-50′s, I’m very interested in maintaining my health, but am aware I need to focus on exercising in ways that won’t injure or damage my joints, but will protect and possibly strengthen them and I believe Erin O’Brien’s DVDs do that.

After using the Strong Body, Ageless Body over a few weeks, I tried Strong Body Fit Body and found it much more challenging – but not to the point of being ridiculous. It is recommended women start out with 5 pound weights and work up to 8 pounds, with the recommended starting weight for men at 8 – working up to 10 pounds.

The cueing on the exercises is excellent, giving informative instruction on form and what muscles are being worked – and breathing tips. Occasionally she’ll tell you what form mistakes not to make, helping you to increase your effectiveness and to avoid injury. While the routine has enough intensity for it to be a cardio workout, it is easy to follow. Erin introduces you to the combination moves in steps often starting out slowly so you can learn and perform the moves with proper form, but it’s never confusing. I like her coaching style, which is calm, encouraging and motivating without being either a drill seargant or too perky. She makes you want to make it through the whole set, acknowledging that it’s tough, but that you can do it.

There are a few high impact exercises (which help boost the heartrate and give a cardio effect), but they’re spaced far enough apart that they weren’t a problem for me, even with my cranky feet. I was sweaty when I finished the workout, but felt energized instead of wiped out afterward. Overall, there is nothing in these workouts that make me concerned that I’m going to injure myself.

I like these two workouts so well I wish there were more – and will definitely buy any others that she releases – and I highly recommend both this and Strong Body Ageless Body.

Excellent, Excellent Workout

The “Editorial Review” is spot-on as the workout is exactly as described. I have purchased and regretted many exercise dvd’s the past few years searching for this DVD and Erin’s other workout “Strong Body, Ageless Body”. This is intelligent and I’m sure will be just the ticket to getting in healthy shape. This is not an easy workout. Even modified quiet a bit, there’s a lot of growing room for me with this workout. What I appreciate is that the moves are not impossible to do (Burpee’s…is that what those things are called? or standing on my head are impossible for me to do. ;-D) but the intensity kicks it up a notch. She starts a circuit out slow so you can get you moves/form down, then goes “up to tempo”. For now, I have to stay at the original slower speed, but I am still able to do the moves. I could not recommend this DVD more.

I am an avid home workout fan – and a long time fan of Erin O’Brien. I’ve used her “Strong Body, Ageless Body” DVD in my weekly rotation for a few years now. I was very excited to get Erin’s newest DVD “Strong Body, Fit Body”. I used this DVD today and loved every minute of it. The workout was thorough and offered new twists on some traditional movements. I struggle with coordination and balance, so I was especially happy with the overall pace and queuing of this workout. This workout is perfect for exercisers of all levels – by simply changing the amount of hand weights that are used. Go for it – “Today is the Day”!

Great Overall Workout…Not So Great for Bad Knees

 April 12, 2012
By Bell4aday
This workout video works on every part of your body and gets your heart pumping. My entire body was sore after that first workout. The instructor is easy to listen to and the video gets right to the exercise. This workout is not for those with bad or weak knees. Sadly, I can’t use this video because some of the exercises just kill my knees. Take heed. She suggests two 5 pound dumbbells to start off with, but for those who are just beginning to exercise, try 3 pound weights. I thought it was a pretty tough workout, but she encourages you all the way!
